The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of MANIT was established in 1970. It is offering one Undergraduate program and two Post Graduate programs in Digital Communication and in VLSI & embedded System Design. It has excellent labs and research facilities in Communication Engineering, Signal Processing and VLSI & Embedded systems. The pass outs of the department had proven their proficiency in the field of higher education and research, entrepreneurship development and service sectors all over the world. It has excellent labs and research facilities in Communication Engineering, Signal Processing, and VLSI & Embedded systems. The department has MOU with Research organizations like ESIEE Peris and industries like Ericsson India in order to promote closure interaction in the area of technology, development, training of students, and development of state of art centres.
